Thomas Tuchel's first game in charge saw England ease past Albania in the World Cup qualifications.

After appointing the German in October 2024 many fans were filled with anticipation and excitement to see Tuchel's first game in charge against Albania. The appointment has sparked widespread hope in England fans that England could finally win an international trophy
After a lot of speculation over his first selection many fans were already questioning his decisions over bringing Jordan Henderson back to the squad as well as two new additions in Dan Burn and the young prospect Miles Lewis-Skelly.
England put in a dominant performance on Friday night with a comfortable 2-0 win over Albania. With goals coming from Harry Kane and the debutant Lewis-Skelly. Tuchel seemed to play a very high possession-based football with England obtaining 74% of the ball. it was a very professional performance from the squad and Albania could not get a look in, in fact they could not register a shot on target against the England side.
Although it is only early days many fans have a lot of faith in Tuchel, and he could be exactly what they need. Finally, a proven manager with a good record. With the World Cup coming up next year it is going to be very interesting to see how England do. Tuchel has already made it clear he wants the players to go out there to win it rather than to not lose which is what he thought Gareth Southgate's plan was in the 2024 EUROS which saw England lose 2-1 in the final to Spain. Making it 2 EURO final loses in a row with the other one coming in 2020 against Italy in which England lost on penalties.
Tuchel speaks a big game and wants to make England a dominant side with a heavy attacking threat something that England fans want and have not seen in decades after failure for such a long.
Next year’s World Cup will also be the first one in 16 years in which an English manager is not in charge with the last nondomestic manager being Fabio Cappello who resigned in 2012.
With England's huge talent and depth there is no reason Tuchel cannot be the man to end the 60 years of suffering. The German has had successes at numerous top clubs including winning the Champions League with Chelsea back in 2021 and can be the man to finally bring glory back to England and re-unite the nation again.
